Horton receives quality award from PACCAR
April 17, 2020
PACCAR, which manufactures Peterbilt, Kenworth and DAF trucks, recently recognized Horton for its exemplary quality performance in 2019.
The heavy-duty truck maker honored Horton with the annual “10 ppm” quality award — which means the equivalent of 10 defective parts for every million components shipped to PACCAR. Horton is PACCAR’s preferred supplier for industry-leading engine cooling system parts, including fans and fan clutches.
“PACCAR relies on excellent suppliers to build industry-leading quality Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF trucks,” PACCAR Vice President of Global Quality Debra Poppas said. “To achieve elite 10 ppm status, PACCAR’s outstanding suppliers need best-in-class product design and process capabilities, and just as important, a quality-focused culture.”
To qualify for the award, suppliers met rigorous standards for delivery performance, warranty support and continuous improvement. Horton’s one of 370 suppliers in 26 countries on five continents to garner 2019 honors.
It’s Horton’s second award from PACCAR for 2019 performance. Earlier this year, PACCAR recognized Horton with Supplier Performance Management “Leader” status.
“We are very proud to see our supply base deliver the highest quality in PACCAR’s year of record production, as this demonstrates the professionalism of our excellent suppliers,” said Darrin Siver, PACCAR senior vice president. “PACCAR congratulates the 10 ppm award winners for their achievements in 2019.”
